The Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) is cause by the virus called Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). But it doesn’t mean that if you have HIV, you’ll have AIDS. Unless if you don’t undergo any treatment like the ANTI-RETROVIRAL THERAPY which goal is to lessen the number of the virus in your blood and maintains the CD4 count (white blood cells) possibly above 200. Unfortunately this therapy has side effects. You’ll always feel nauseated, will usually suffer from headache, and would have some back pains. Also when taken for a very long time, you’ll be prone from having heart disease.
The virus attacks the immune system of a person. If your immune system is already weak then you’ll be prone to have diseases. Parasites and other bacteria, which cannot cause anything to a healthy person, could make you sick.
The symptoms of AIDS are easy to see. If you notice that you usually chill, sweating even if you’re asleep, your glands are swollen, and then you better have a check-up. You might have AIDS. But in some cases, the symptoms couldn’t be notice. Some who suffered from AIDS had seen the symptoms after 10 years.
Though the symptoms are sometimes hidden, still it can be transmitted. It is being transmitted through any form of sex whether oral, vaginal, or anal. But the very dangerous one is the anal because it is so risky. Blood transfusion could also be one. If you share needles with the person who has AIDS then there is a hundred percent possibility that you’ll have AIDS. Another is from mother to child cases. If the mother has AIDS and she breastfeed her baby or if a pregnant mother would wish to continue her pregnancy without taking a treatment.
See, AIDS is really dangerous and is fatal. So don’t risk your life. Prevent life and fight AIDS!Labels: combat HIV/AIDS...

Abortion is now rampant in the world. A lot of young people ages 15 and above are getting pregnant. But they are not the only ones who are suffering. It’s the fetus inside their womb who is in distress. But they don’t see the agony those fetuses are feeling. They are so apathetic on their future baby’s life. What they think is just about their own good. They wouldn’t try to look after their future having their babies with them. They only think of what’s going to happen if their parents would know what they’ve done and all that. But let’s break it. I mean let’s make a move. Let’s help these fetuses and give them a chance to live. Let us let them live.Labels: reduce child mortality

Recently I have been thinking about my major. Though I still don’t have my majors yet, still it haunts me every now and then. I’m still in a dilemma of what to choose between the two. And it’s quite hard for me because I both love it. I love to express my thoughts thru writing yet sometimes I find it boring and tiring. I am oftentimes lazy in doing my school work especially if I don’t know what to do or write. On the other hand, I so much appreciate educational communication yet I’m afraid if I would not be able to do the demands. Both these majors are hard. You just have to be passionate on your chosen career to surpass all the obstacles. But the problem is I don’t know what to choose!Labels: personal

We are so fortunate that in our country there are only small cases of mothers who die after giving birth. That truth is worth of celebration because life for us is a celebration. But sad to say that unlike other countries, not all mothers who just gave birth are given enough care. Most are just left behind specifically those who don’t have money to pay their bills. That reality really bites. Instead of lying on the bed and having some relaxation, these poor mothers are already working to pay their hospital bills. See, our country is really different. I just pity those who are neglected of their right. To exercise their right (poor mothers right) to be safe and to live freely with their offspring until they grow older. But until now the government still has no funds for these pity mothers. Still these mothers have to suffer and somehow surrender their lives for their babies’ sake. And still their life stays in the dark.Labels: Improve Maternal Health

I never realized that a big celebration could make me happy. I thought it’s just like the other celebrations I’ve attended. But I was wrong. It was actually the happiest celebration I’ve gone to this year. The program, though it started late, was a blow of fun. Every performance that was shown was great. From the funny performances of the DEVCOM students, to the dance number that the FACULTY showcased was really a talent to treasure. I din’t even noticed if there was a second that I felt bored or sleepy especially when the teachers flaunted their so cute and so “hataw” dance number. Wow, all I said was wow. I, including the other DEVCOM students, even shouted and stand to witness the performance. However, having fun was not the only reason of why we have that 30th year of celebrating the existence of DEVCOM. We were there to prove to ourselves that we can do anything and to prove to the people as well that DEVCOM is not a cheap course. It is the only communication course which can help the people attain their goals, develop the country, change the world, and create a better world for living.Labels: THE PERFECT CELEBRATION

The recent talk nowadays is about Joe de Venecia’s issue on being ousted from his position. With that incident, PGMA’s heirloom and de Venecia’s are on a fight. Many hidden agenda are coming out from someone’s mouth. Each of them is thinking of something they knew from the past to make noise and to prove that they have the most bullet to kick out their foe from his/her position. I don’t understand why these things are happening. Well, maybe they want to leave a clean and unstained public name to the society. Unfortunately they forget about their vow before they were placed in the position. They just think of themselves. They have forgotten that the reason why they were given that position was because of us, because of the people who believed in their ability and knowledge. But all of them are failures. They were so overwhelmed by the power given to them. And now, tell me, who will we believe in? To whom will we show some interest? Who will we trust? Who would save us from the ground if they are fighting? If they choose the person to place in the position because they’re friends, or they have the same goal? Now, I am so confused. Was JOe de Venecia ousted because of political reasons? or because he had strength to tell the truth?

I hate it when people say I’m immature. They judge me that I am not thinking in a mature way, that I am not thinking and acting my age. And that is all because I’m petite and sometimes playing around with them as if I am a child. But that is not the whole of me. That is just part of my personality. I am not a child everyday in my life. Like anyone else, I’m also thinking about my future. I’m also creating plans of what my life would be. Unfortunately they couldn’t see those. What they see is the child in me. The still immature side of me!Labels: personal, rant

Media is very powerful yet the worst of all discoveries. Though we get most of the information from the media still it can be consider as the worst invention because it both imposes good and bad things. It’s up to the people to decide whether to apply or reject such information they are receiving. The media just give and give information but never tell the audience about its drawbacks. Maybe for some instances they have told the people but when it comes to telenovelas, films, song lyrics, etc. the media still have some lapses. Like, they don’t give some advice on what the people should follow. They just present whatever they want to not thinking that a lot are “media illiterate”. What they are up to is the ratings. They are just thinking of themselves - for the money. And only a little care is left to the people. So little care that sometimes people are getting prone to killings, to suicide, and hatred. And all of this is because of media’s egocentricity. Labels: REFLECTIONS

Our RS teacher once asked us if it was God's will why Jesus died on the cross. Of course all of us believed that it was part of His plans. That it's His way of saving us. But, we were wrong. Our teacher said that it was not God's plan. Because, according to him, if it was God's plan then why Jesus has risen from the dead on the third day? That answer of him was a conundrum to me. I couldn't understand why it went that way. But still I listened to our teacher thinking that somehow I could be able to understand him, unfortunately it just made me totally confused. Confused because I didn't learn anything. I didn't understand him at all!. But the problem with him is that he doesn't know how to explain well. Maybe what he was saying was right. However, when he explains its as if everything in his lesson is wrong. For that, I pity him. But I'm hoping that someday he would be able to explain everything to us (his students) in the most understood way.

Every aspect of being a college student requires confidence. In every report or presentation that you will have should involve with confidence.
I just don't know why sometimes I lack this thing. I mean I really try hard to gain confidence and show everyone that I'm okay, that I can do good. But sad to say there are times wherein I really don't know where to get this so-called confidence. And that makes me sad. Most of the time I see myself comparing my own to anybody. I know it's not a good idea but when I do that I feel good. I'm learning from them. I mean I am not plainly comparing myself to others but I am also trying to get some techniques from them. I'm trying to apply what they do so that I could be able to regain my confidence. Another thing I do is to make fun of myself. I can't find for any possible reason of why I'm doing that. I guess it's just my way of being one with the people around me. I mean, my way of connecting with them. Well, that truth is quite hard to think of but what can I do, that's what I do, that's who I really am.Labels: laboratory
