Well, sad to say I’m not a good facilitator. I don’t even know how to be a good presenter. Behind my mind I can hear murmurs saying, “I want to know the secrets of a good presenter” or better if I say, “I want to be a good presenter”.
I don’t know if it’s my shyness pulling me down not to perfect my presentation; or if it’s really me who’s the problem. I mean, I know I want to have a perfect, or if not, an almost perfect presentation. But I don’t understand why I can’t. Maybe, it’s me because I don’t act or do something to overcome my ‘shyness’. But I’m not even sure if that’s really the reason because I know that I’m really trying hard to show my best – my very, very best.
Well maybe it’s because I’m always trying – JUST trying. Maybe I LACK FOCUS and WILL. Maybe I NEED to improve. I mean not maybe, I just have to improve. I have to do it again. I have to act. I really have to.

For a long time you have noticed that men were usually the ones doing the harder work. While it has been always the women’s job taking care of the children. They were even left at home to do the chores.
But, today it has been very different. A twist happened between the two creatures (man and woman). Women are now able to work, find a job, and feed their family. Most of the families now, if not both their parents are working, it’s their mother who’s working.
However, some biases do exist. Like, there’s a tendency wherein men are given a lot of chances in everything more than women. Women’s concerns are usually left unattended. That’s why there are lots of organizations and programs aiming to protect and fight for women’s privileges. One example is the GABRIELA.
Actually, it is all right to give women an easier job than men because it’s not right to expose them to danger. I mean, women are willing to do anything which is according to their chosen profession. But they still need protection in case something happens to them or if someone treated them so badly.
On the other hand, there’s one thing I just couldn’t understand. I don’t know if I see it right but I can sense that people are sort of neglecting women’s credibility. Even their privileges are often deserted. I don’t know if people are so optimistic that nothing wrong would happen to them. Or if they are just so indifferent with regards to this.

Nowadays, people would disregard their education. They think that education is just a waste of time and money. They are not anticipating of what their future would be. Without education we would have nothing. We would end up our lives rigid. But some people are so hard-headed.
I’m not saying that we are here just for education. I’m just saying that in this world education is a must. We couldn’t have a happy life if we would learn nothing because this world where we live is not as wonderful as heaven. It requires a lot of things as you stay here. It doesn’t welcome everybody the way God welcomes us with open arms.
But, people are dumb. They say that they are just being practical. They let their children work at an early age because they don’t have allotted money for their children’s schooling. But the truth is they are being impractical. They don’t think of their children’s future. They just think of themselves.
Well, maybe for them it’s really hard living in this world. They have to fight and go with its flow even if they lack everything. That’s why they thought of prioritizing one thing, which is to enclose themselves of the basic things they need and to neglect their education.
That reality bites. But, what can I do? It’s their life.
However, I still hope that someday those who think that education is garbage would change their attitude towards education.

Colouring books are fun to shade. They make your day more colourful. But every page has its own story which makes you either be blue or have a sunny day.
In our dc 4 laboratory last January 10, 2007, we had a colouring session with a twist. That activity was really exciting. We are told to choose a piece of page on the colouring book and relate it to our chosen MDG. Then we colour it. Next, our professor gave us two pieces of halved bond papers and asked us to draw what we had coloured.
Although I don’t have the talent still I find it fun. That activity taught me to be more patient and confident - confident enough to re-draw the piece that I’ve chosen in the colouring book. We even used our wits in thinking of a possible joke we could apply in our drawing. And that activity in that laboratory was the hardest. It took me so long to think of a joke. I even don’t know if that joke I did was really a joke.
All of those activities were cool. And because of those activities, I’ve learnt to value what I have. I mean, that I don’t need to be a painter to draw skilfully. I just have to have confidence, patience, and determination.

Among the eight Millennium Development Goals, we were tasked to choose one and think of an organization of our own. And so I chose the sixth which is to combat HIV/Aids, malaria, and other diseases. Among the said diseases, I chose HIV/Aids to be my topic since it's the most rampant.
Actually, it was a bit hard for me in dealing with this topic because I also don't know much about HIV/Aids. But still, I pursue this topic because I want to inform people regarding this disease. I know their well-informed that Aids is now rampant and is deadly but they didn't recognized the possible reasons and preventions to it. What they knew was that HIV can be transmitted through sex. They didn't distinguish that HIV could also be from blood transfusion, etc.
For that, I sort of pity them. I mean I know not all people have the courage to ask someone about this kind of thing because they are afraid to be judge. And it's one of my reasons why I want to present to them on the whereabouts of this disease. I want to let people know that they have nothing to worry about. That it wouldn’t be a problem if they know more about Aids. In fact, it would be a privilege on their part.
On the other hand, thinking that people are unaware of what’s happening make me irritated. I mean, I know I don’t hold their lives or anything. It’s just so annoying because people are not only badly informed about these so-called HIV/Aids, they are more of unconcerned. It's none of my business anyway. but i just hope that someday they would have an open-mind to accept the reality of HIV/Aids - that it kills.
