The first time I heard about Aids I was just like ‘what is that?’, as if I don’t care. I didn’t mind knowing about it for I think sex is the only way you can have that disease. But, when I indulged myself on it the question ‘what is that?’ turned into ‘is that so’?
The World Aids Day celebration was a big help for me to understand the people who suffer from HIV/Aids. It was really the time that I learned to literally open my eyes from the reality that Aids really matters. It is a very serious disease that we have to fight and prevent.
And even if the World Aids Day was a bit exhausting, it didn’t matter to me. What was I thinking that time was to simply enjoy and not to care of how many or less the people were watching. I just thought that I have to give my best and do what I ought to do. It was not all for the grades but more of informing the people and breaking the thoughts of those stereotypes.
Those presentations that we had really gave me a time to think. It made me realized that life is really short. You wouldn’t know when will you die and in what way you will die. You wouldn’t know if today is your last day, if the air you breathe is your last breath.

In our country today there are so many filmmakers who exist. Most are not that known but almost have done a big difference in the film industry. That’s why there are so many die hard film buffs who want to show their talents. But not all of them really have the talent. They are just interested in watching films but not in making films.
But as for me whether they are movie fanatics or love the craft of making films, it wouldn’t matter because in any way they are somehow proving to everyone that they can do something.
In connection to that, the workshop that we had somehow made me proud and realized that we, Filipinos, could also do films like those we have seen. The films are so nice and so realistic. There are some which has hidden meaning while others are so difficult to analyze because the messages are not so clear. You still need to really focus and make some realizations and ask yourself of the things that happened.
With regards to the filmmakers’ talent, I could say that they are one of the best filmmakers in the world. Some of their film already garnered an award from Cannes – the most prestigious “award-giving-body” for films. And it only proves that Filipinos can compete and communicate globally through films.Labels: develop a global partnership for development
